"If I had words to make a day for you, I'd give you a morning golden and true."

Happy First Day O' Spring! (posted yesterday, but internet was gone...)

Isn't it wonderful? Isn't it marvelous? Doesn't just knowing that it's the first day of Spring make you smile? Take a deep breathe in. Lovely! Now, let it out slowly . . . The air is sweet! For those of you who did not join me in deep breathing (yeah, you) you are missing out. (Thankfully Spring air is faithful for yet another 3 months, and you have not lost your last chance.)

Spring blossoms are coming through desert earth.

To help share our first day of Spring with you, Beautiful People, my best poser came out with me, to take pictures of our freshly picked fleeds.

(Not quite flower + not quite weed = Fleed.)

As I took pictures with Goldilocks, everyone's favorite cat, Oskar, just purred and purred, circling her feet.

He wanted to be a part of our photo fun, and as soon as we acknowledged him, he was as silent as . . . a silent cat.

(I wasn't raised Southern, I'm Southwestern, and I don't have the enviable knack of making clever similes off the top of my head. Unlike Jase of Duck Dynasty.)

Below, Goldilocks and Oskar are surrounded by carrot, potato, and radish sprouts from our little garden.

Did you see our first sunflower this year?

Well, my fabulous friends, I leave now, wishing you a spectacular Spring!

Riddles!

The answer is:Whale
"So get your Bible and read with care;
You'll find my name recorded there."
Genesis 1:21
Ezekial 32:2
Job 7:12
Matthew 12:40

If not all of the lines in the poemmade sense to you I've given the explaination in red.
"God made Adam out of the dust,
But thought it best to make me first;
So I was made before the man,
According to God's Holy plan. "

Swimming creatures were made on the 5th day. Adam was made on day #6.

"Later, for a purpose God did see,
He placed a living soul in me.
But that soul in me God chose to claim,
And from me took it back again."

Jonah

"Without arms, legs, feet, or soul,
I travel on from pole to pole."

Whales are long-distance travelers

"I labor hours by day, by night
to follow man to give him light.
Thousands of people, young and old,
will by my death great light behold."

Whale oil burns very nicely in many lamps. But the whale must be killed to get the oil.

Mr. D did pretty well solving that riddle so quickly! My hat goes off to him. =)

Risa made some riddles for us, and solving them was a really fun game. I'll share them with you, since those who so kindly commented said they enjoyed riddles. You could use these for family game night. Maybe you'll have fun racing your family members and seeing who can figure out the most.

The rules: Replace the underlined word with a "body part" word.
For example: Macaroni noodle. Would be Elbow noodle.
And, Me, Myself and Myself. Would be Me, Myself and Eye.
Get it?

Splurge not, want not.

Intelligence or brawn?

No deciet about it.

Stop, Spot!

Cool and happenin'!

The game is begun!

The Tortoise and the Rabbit
Get to the main part of a matter.

The disciples plucked the spikes of grain.

Kill the fatted baby cow.

The penalty is 50 strokes of the whip.

The mice run down the front of the clock.
He has a thick outer covering

Don't kick the supports of the table!

Would you give me some help?

Do you like tropical trees?

Everyone is certain that cockroaches are evil.

How many numbers are there?

Get weapons for yourselves, men!

Meet me at the start of the river.

They are two cars in front of us.

We had to pull the trailer.

How did you get the boat through the thin part of the bottle?

She's so proud, I don't think I can handle it!

What is in your treasure box?
Baby-back meat is so messy!

The edge of the book was worn and creased.

Be sure to clean the rim of the jar.

Hope you enjoy!

Are You Ready?

Are you ready for Jack to take his first steps? Because it's going to happen any day now.

Yesterday he stood up against the back door and just stayed there, looking out.
That is exactly what SquiRe did when he was that age; it brought back some sweet memories.
I'll try (and already have tried) to get a video of him saying 'Dada'. He has also said 'Sista' and 'Budda'. Poor mom, always last.

Every time I pull out the camera he stops walking and talking. So I haven't been able to get a video yet, but I will keep on trying.

Are you ready?

Life has been busy

It really has. And school has been never-ending. But we've managed to have some fun despite all the homework by being outside. The weather has been wonderful this week. I mean, perfect. Mid-seventies.

So nice in fact, that Momo decided to take a nap outside one day. And that was the day the kids decided to have, erm, "fun" in the sandbox...she didn't look so peaceful after she woke up...

Jack has been crawling everwhere and he is getting close to talking...I'm trying to teach him my name but he's a slow learner.

The kids had lots of fun when cousin M (far left) brought over some bubbles.

So there they are, all with their usual expressions. Goldilocks: "sweet", Jack: Suspicious, and SquiRe: Silly.

So that's life for us. Couldn't ask for more, right?

Where We've Been and What We've Been Doing

Sorry we haven't posted anything for a while! We've been busy, and I've got pictures to prove it!

We said goodbye to Aunt J on Monday.

But you don't have to be sad! You can say "hi" to our uncle's head!

We had  a lot of family over on Saturday. SquiRe and Goldilocks loved all the attention.
Aren't they cute?

We also tried out our new game:

It is so much fun!
It is just like charades, but each word has assigned points and there is a timer!

I know we look pretty silly. Can you guess what we were doing in any of the pictures?

There was a lot of love on Valentine's Day,

And a lot of yummy cream puffs!

Cream puffs are one of my favorite desserts!

The three of us also made a giant gingerbread man. Yum!
That's about all you missed! See, why should we post every week when we can sum it up in one blog post?

After a busy month we all got sick! We're coming down with a flu or something like that. Poor Goldilocks has to have a breathing treatment every once in a while because her asthma is acting up!
But even with a runny nose she's still cute!

Our cousins got a new dog!

His name is Bronco.

Family

Guess what we did this morning? Okay, you probably know, so here are some pictures, with as little commentary as possible.

Our Cousin I, SquiRe, Goldilocks, Sam, our cousins M and L.[from left to right]

Sam, L, and Goldilocks right before our gift exchange.

This is Goldilocks pretending to be Mary. She and SquiRe did an amazing job on the nativity play. Squire memorized three verses, a lot of lines and a short song in just three, maybe four days! He is amazing!
This is our sweet great-aunt who came out for a visit. SquiRe is holding his new guitar and Goldilocks is wearing her new dress-up hat.

I hope you had a wonderful and blessed day!
