"You beautiful fish, you!"

Our friend, Rachel, sent us this video, and it is great. A modesty spoof on OneDirection's  "What Makes You Beautiful."
It's really nice to know there are at least a FEW guys [though these guys happen to be mormon, grrr >( ] out there who feel this way. Plus, it's funny.

Enjoy!

That's a Strange Place to Put a Piano

If you have ever heard Jessica's Theme you will agree with me, it is a very beautiful song. Our friend Jesse Ormand has a beautiful rendition of it below. This is Risa's favorite, and she likes his cover even better than Jon Schmidt's!

You should visit his website; jesseormand.com. He has a lot of very beautiful arrangements. We really enjoy listening to them and hope you do too.

Have a beautiful day!
Mari

P.S. Kuddos if you know where the post title came from! ^-^

P.P.S. I think the word beautiful is simply . . . beautiful! Don't you?

Healthy Food (from kids' perspectives)

If you'd like a laugh, try this short. It's quite funny, especially if you like healthy eating. (Can you say kombucha?)

Note: We don't condone or attempt to encourage bad-mouthing mothers who valiantly promote a healthy diet for their families. You moms are amazing!

These two musicians are both extremely talented, but put them together and . . . wow.

Our Super Bible Memorizer!

Yeah, that's right! He's an amazing brother. Believe it or not he actually asks us to teach him verses. The other day I said, "SquiRe, do you want to play Stratego"(Stratego is his favorite game) "or finish memorizing the 23rd Psalm?"
His reply: "Oh, I wanna do verses that way I can learn about God."
He is too cute.
Would you like to know what it is like helping a super-smart and adorable brother memorize verses? Well, here is how it went as he memorized the last verse of Psalm 23:
Me: Okay, this is the last verse. Are you ready?
SquiRe: *squeals* Eeeeeeee! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Me: Okay, okay! Calm down. Say 'Surely goodness and mercy'
SquiRe: Surely goo- wait. Daddy says I'm supposed to know what all the verses mean before I memorize them so that what I need to do first. What do all those words mean?
Me: Well, surely just means really, or for sure.
SquiRe: Oh, 'cause surely sounds like for sure except it's surely.
Me: That's right. And goodness just means good things, like blessings and -
SquiRe: And obedience.
Me: Well, good things come when you obey the Good Shepherd but goodness just means good things.
SquiRe: Isn't obedience a good thing?
Me: *sighs* (This boy is too smart) ...and mercy is like-
SquiRe: Love?
Me: Umm... No
SquiRe: Like peace?
Me: SquiRe, mercy is like forgiveness. Mercy is being kind even when we don't deserve it.
SquiRe: Oh like that story. [SquiRe gets on his knees] The man is like, 'Show me mercy! Please!' So he does. But then he goes to his other servant, [his hands are on his hips now] and the other servant needs mercy too but he just, ugh, no respect!
[He was speaking of the parable in Matthew 18:23-35]

That's right, he's adorable. So now you know a little of what it's like to be blessed with a sweet little brother like SquiRe. Now, go ahead, watch the video again.

In the Light

I love this song by DC Talk.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. - John 1:4-5

What Faith Can Do

I am changing the song on here just because I like this song better and decided I'd just edit this post instead of doing a new one. ;-]

Thank-you

Since, you're all probably bored of Baby Jack by now, I thought I should post about something different. ;-D

This video called The Gratitude Campaign demonstrates a unique way to show gratitude to those who serve. It is quick and simple to avoid awkwardness and in situations when you're unable to approach someone. The man who started the campaign felt that the usual ASL sign might be misinterpreted, so it instead uses this sign, originating in 18th century France, which fully translated means "thank you from the bottom of my heart."

If you haven't already heard of this, please take the time to watch this short video. Also, please keep our Uncle N in your prayers as he is deployed in Afganhistan.

For any of you who haven't lost interest in the newest addition to our family and are eager for an update: Baby and Mom continue to do well. She doesn't get much sleep at night, of course, but she usually gets a nap during the day. All things considered, this seems to be her best recovery. Jack is a precious little thing who still spends most of his time sleeping and "smiles" often. Usually he only cries when he's hungry; then he wants food NOW!

I would also like to give a BIG thank-you to all of those women who have generously brought us meals these past two weeks. We have been so blessed by how kind and thoughtful you have all been, and the meals have been simply wonderful! (Plus,  it makes planning and preparing meals much easier for us girls! ;-D)
