Are You Ready?

Are you ready for Jack to take his first steps? Because it's going to happen any day now.

Yesterday he stood up against the back door and just stayed there, looking out.
That is exactly what SquiRe did when he was that age; it brought back some sweet memories.
I'll try (and already have tried) to get a video of him saying 'Dada'. He has also said 'Sista' and 'Budda'. Poor mom, always last.

Every time I pull out the camera he stops walking and talking. So I haven't been able to get a video yet, but I will keep on trying.

Are you ready?

At the Fair

A couple days ago we went to the fair. Then we all got sick. But for now, I'll just show pics of the fair.

Loading up in the car--the camera string got in the way =P
Before we left we had our usual pale-skinned ritual (which everyone in our family minus Momo, Risa and Dad have learned that we MUST do before going out in the sun for periods of more than 5 minutes) of soaking our skin in sunscreen, making sure we had proper proctection and plenty of water.

In the car and on the way. It's a 45 min. drive.

One of those super-sweet-awwww moments you have with little kids. Jack held her hand voluntarily.

Momo and SquiRe outside the animal hall

Two goats fighting inside the animal hall

Ah, the delicious health-destructive Fair food! For dinner we feasted on some "slap-your-mama" good (Tim Hawkins fans will understand) Indian Fry bread w/ beans and cheese. Sooo good. Then we ate Piggly's Riley Fries which...you know, I don't think I can think of anything more un-healthy than those =].

On the carousel, a must-ride
After lots of fun, getting wet, and meeting lots of grumpy fair employees, we were wiped out.

See how tired?

Kingdom Come

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.

April Fool's Day

For April Fool's Day Risa, Sam and I turned lots of things in our house upside down.
Although Mom and Dad both walked through the hallway with our upside down pictures, they didn't seem to notice right away.

We also turned all the books on the bookshelf around.

Risa turned all the pictures on our fridge upside down as well!

You may be wondering why my beautiful sister, Sam, has a blue spot on her face. Well, I told everyone but SquiRe to put a spot somewhere on their face on April 1st. When SquiRe asked us about it we said we did not see any spot. He was completely bewildered!

Later that morning we put a spot on Goldilocks and Jack (who didn't have one at first) and a second spot on each of us.

"There's another one!" Squire said very loudly.
Goldilocks then shouted, "Jack do too!" (She didn't know we gave her a spot also.)
SquiRe walked over to see Jack and seeing the spot on Goldilocks his eyes open wide! "You have one too!"

We all shouted "April Fool!" and SquiRe laughed.

Throughout the day he tried to get us. He tried especially hard to get Risa! He kept saying things like "There's a baby crocodile on your head, Risa!" but she continually smiled and said, "I don't believe you!"

He succeeded in tricking her by saying, "Hey, Risa, why did Momo put that thing in the window?" When she turned to see what it was SquiRe shouted, "April Fool!"

I hope you had wonderful April Fool's day!

Life has been busy

It really has. And school has been never-ending. But we've managed to have some fun despite all the homework by being outside. The weather has been wonderful this week. I mean, perfect. Mid-seventies.

So nice in fact, that Momo decided to take a nap outside one day. And that was the day the kids decided to have, erm, "fun" in the sandbox...she didn't look so peaceful after she woke up...

Jack has been crawling everwhere and he is getting close to talking...I'm trying to teach him my name but he's a slow learner.

The kids had lots of fun when cousin M (far left) brought over some bubbles.

So there they are, all with their usual expressions. Goldilocks: "sweet", Jack: Suspicious, and SquiRe: Silly.

So that's life for us. Couldn't ask for more, right?
