If that's what it takes to praise you

There is a song that I really love called "Bring the Rain." (Chances are, you've heard of it too.) Anyway, I was reminded of it this week and I thought that I would share this song, which has become so special and encouraging to me, with all of you.

“Bring the Rain”
MercyMe

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I've gone through

The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind

To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray
Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain

I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray

Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty

I've never heard the song before, myself. My favorite line is "Bring me anything that brings You glory" - it's a hard thing to truly surrender yourself and say that.

Thanks for posting it, Risa!

That is one of my favorite lines as well, Michelle! It is so important to surrender your life to His will and so hard. Yet, why on earth shouldn't we trust Him when He has so powerfully proved His love toward us, and when He is our very "shelter from the storm?"

With you in love,
Risa

I've never heard the song either, but it was a very beautiful song! Dad has some Mercy Me cds...perhaps he has this song on there. I'll have to look into that! But it is a very beautiful song. Thank you for sharing it!!
